What’s your favorite Track? Considering I have raced at Lebanon Valley for so long and haven’t missed a race in over 13 years there, hard not to say that’s my fav… however, any chance I get to race at another track is awesome… Hagerstown was always a great trip.  Hope to do more racing away from home this year.

Got any hobbies outside of racing?  Camping or hanging out with friends and family, coaching basketball, playing basketball, going to the gym, traveling… other than that it’s just work and racing!

How did you get involved in racing?  My Uncle Bruce started racing in the late ‘60’s and I started going to the races when I was a year old in 1972.  As a kid, all I wanted to do was go to the races.  After my Uncle stopped driving, he had many different drivers race for him at tracks all over the US and Canada.  Some drivers who raced for him over the years were Butch Jelley, Dickie Larkin, Russ Blake, Tommy Corellis, Dick Hansen, Danny Armstrong, Mark Quinn, Matt Quinn, Frank Cozze, John Flach, Stan Wetmore, Ray Evernham, Mike Ricci, Andy Bachetti, JR Heffner, Tim Dwyer and I’m sure I’m forgetting someone else there were so many.  Naturally, I had the itch to race… every week, every race was an opportunity to win, and nothing seemed better than reaching victory lane.  I couldn’t get enough and knew some day I’d take a shot at winning races.

What is the strongest part of your team going into 2018?  The strongest part of our team is definitely our crew.  This group has been together for over 10 years and they make all this possible.

Where do you feel you need to improve?  Repetition.  The more I race the better I get… guys who race more than one night a week are sharper and more confident in the car.  As our schedules allow, we will be venturing out as much as possible this year.

Anything else you’d like people to know about you? I was brought up around the races, spending every weekend with my Aunt and Uncle at tracks all over the place.  My wife comes from a racing family too.  Her father, Ken Tremont, Sr., hasn’t missed a race at Lebanon Valley in well over 50 years.  Her brother, Kenny Tremont, Jr., is the King of Lebanon Valley, winning more races and championships than anyone in its storied history.  He also has won several championships and big races at other tracks, most notably winning the Eckerd 300 in Syracuse in 1999.  Her sister, Kathy Tremont spent some time behind the wheel and Kathy’s husband, Rick Wright, raced many years at Lebanon Valley as well, winning 4 races himself.

I am very grateful that my wife and kids enjoy racing too.  Racing is what we do and Phaze 3 is our extended racing family.  It’s more than just checkered flags for us, it’s a way of life… we enjoy living life with great friends and family that share the passion and like to have a good time.  We’re not here for a long time, but we’re here for a GOOD TIME!!!
